After the Indian cricket team’s disastrous exit from the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022, the BCCI is likely to introduce number of changes into the team’s T20I scheme of things.
According to some reports from the sources within the BCCI, Indian cricket is set to have a separate head coach for the T20I team, meanwhile the senior players of the team will mostly stay away from the T20I side.
With the big ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 coming next year in India itself, and before that, the World Test Championship 2021-2023 final is also to be played. As such, BCCI is said to be focusing more on keeping the senior players fit for those important tournaments while new faces will play the T20I format with Hardik Pandya likely to be the new T20I captain.
However, fans are still worried that despite all the senior players being rested for the T20I format, they might make a surprise return into the team after World Cup 2023 and then also go on to play in the T20 World Cup 2024.
A BCCI source said – “You will not see most of the senior players playing T20 next year”. (To PTI)

Expected but come the T20i WC 2024 all the seniors will walk directly into the squad and those who will be playing t20 in 2023 will eventually miss out

That’s fine till they don’t come back suddenly before a world event and hamper the continuity
