Indian captain Rohit Sharma won everyone’s heart with his great courage to come out to bat despite suffering a thumb injury while fielding and having to go to the hospital for scan.
After bowling brilliantly in the first 20 overs, getting 6 Bangladesh players out for just 69, the Indian bowlers had to face some tough stint as Mahmudullah and Mehidy Hasan Miraz both played important knocks to guide Bangladesh to 271 runs.
Indian batting unit had a terrible start until Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel stabilized the inning. However, it was still a tough ask for Indian batters. And then came an injured Indian captain at number 9.
Rohit played a crucial knock of 51 runs and took the chase to the very end of the match, however, he fell a little short as Bangladesh won the match by 5 runs. After his brilliant effort, the Twitterati praised the fighting effort of Rohit Sharma.
