An exciting match at the Eden Gardens ended in favour of the hosts Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as they beat the Punjab Kings in the last ball of the match.
Batting first in the match after winning the toss, Punjab Kings captain Shikhar Dhawan opted to bat first.
Despite losing 3 wickets in the powerplay, Punjab Kings ride on some explosive batting in the end to put 179 runs on the board.
Chasing the target, Jason Roy batted well for KKR, but it is their captain Nitish Rana who played a spectacular knock as he scored 51 runs. But the finishing touch was given by Andre Russell and Rinku Singh.
Russell scored 42 runs in 23 balls while Rinku Singh scored 21 runs in 10 balls, that also included the winning boundary on the last ball. KKR needed 7 runs on the last over and Arshdeep gave only 5 runs in 5 balls and then KKR required 2 runs to win the match on the last ball, Rinku Singh hit Arshdeep Singh for a boundary on the last ball to win the match.
