After a courageous fight in the 2nd ODI from captain Rohit Sharma to help and try India to win the match, the Men in Blue will now miss their captain’s presence in the upcoming 3rd ODI as well as the 2 match Test series as well.
Rohit Sharma suffered a major blow on thumb while fielding in the 2nd ODI and had to be taken to hospital for medical purposes. He returned to the match with no expectations of him batting in the match.
However, he made a bold decision to come out at number 9 position and played an inning of 51 runs to take India almost to the victory.
Later, India head coach Rahul Dravid confirmed that Rohit will miss the 3rd ODI as well as the Test series. After that, even though there is vice-captain KL Rahul in the team, the Indian fans want Virat Kohli to made stand-in captain for the series.
