A number of constant failure for the Indian cricket team’s opening batsman KL Rahul is currently the talk of the town after the batter once again failed to live-up to the expectations.
KL Rahul was once hailed as the next big thing in Indian cricket, however, his constant failure in the last couple of years have been a big upset for the Indian fans.
Rahul has not been able to perform at the level where he could help the team get off to a start other than a very few occasions.
His failures are continuing in the ongoing 4 match Test series vs Australia as well. With the presence of a player Shubman Gill sitting on the bench for the first 2 matches, fans are pretty angry that Rahul is being given so much opportunity despite the player’s failure while a youngster like Gill is warming the bench.
In the 2nd Test vs Australia, Rahul scored only 17 and 1 runs respectively, meaning India would lose their 1st wicket quickly. The fans have been flooding on social media with the demands that the batter is dropped from the team and let him play domestic cricket to regain the form.
However, in a latest statement from Head Coach Rahul Dravid after the India vs Australia 2nd Test in Delhi, Dravid said that the team will back KL Rahul. However the fans are not at all happy about this decision.
Rahul Dravid said “We will continue to back Rahul, these kind of situations happen to any player, he has scored hundreds in SA, ENG & all”.
