Bottom placed team in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2023 points table, Quetta Gladiators failed to chase down 149 runs target as they slumped to 5th defeat of the season and the fans are not happy about Sarfaraz Ahmed’s captaincy and wants young pacer Naseem Shah as captain.
Quetta Gladiators, a former PSL champion is struggling terribly to deliver performance in this year’s Pakistan Super League 2023 season.
Batting first in the match number 18 of the PSL 2023, Lahore Qalandars were rescued from a terrible start by Zimbabwe all-rounder Sikandar Raza, who scored 71 runs in 34 balls and led Lahore to 148 total.
Chasing the target, Quetta Gladiators had a good start, scoring past 50 runs in the powerplay. But then, the wickets kept on falling on regular intervals. Following the good start, Quetta were down to 5 wickets for 80 runs.
After that, the team really never picked-up the pace and could only score 131 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Fans were particularly criticising captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, who scored 27 runs in 28 balls.
Fans were seen consoling how Naseem Shah was crying after the team’s result. Naseem Shah is a huge talent for Pakistan and they are feeling sad for him and feel that he should be the captain.
