The Punjab Kings picked up a crucial win in a last ball thriller against the hosts Chennai Super Kings in the match number 41 of the IPL 2023.
Batting first, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) scored 200 runs in their respective 20 overs. Devon Conway was the highlight with a brilliant inning and remained unbeaten on 92 runs.
Other than Conway, despite getting some good starts, players like Gaikwad, Shivam Dube all failed to play a big inning. But in the end, MS Dhoni’s last 2 ball sixes helped CSK touch the 200 runs mark.
Chasing the target, the opening duo added 50 runs before Dhawan was dismissed. But again, the same story here as well as players failed to get their start to big inning.
Liam Livingstone played hugely important inning as he scored 40 runs in 24 balls. And then Sam Curran and Jitesh Sharma took it from him before the former was dismissed and soon the latter was dismissed but both played impact inning.
It went down to the wire as Punjab needed 3 runs of the last ball to win the match and the Punjab batters actually did that and ran for 3 runs to win the match. For CSK, Tushar Deshpande was their best bowler, but he gave away 49 runs in his 4 overs and took 3 wickets. See how Twitterati reacted.

How did Tushar Deshpande got the purple cap while helping batsmen get the orange cap needs to be studied.— Heisenberg ☢ (@internetumpire) April 30, 2023

Dhoni should have come to bat a bit early, just short of 2 sixes. Time to blame Conway,he wasted so many balls to looking for 100. #CSKvsPBKS— Hallalababyboss and 72 others (@HallalaBabyboss) April 30, 2023
