Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s new chairman Najam Sethi’s statement has been ousted by the cricket fraternity as the head added that they prepared a sporting pitch for the 2nd Test match between Pakistan and New Zealand.
The Pakistan cricket team and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have been under the radar a lot in the recent times as the country has failed to produce a pitch that can get the best out of the players, rather it has used flat pitches with loads of runs in the entire 2022 as remembrance.
The story was no different in the 2nd Test as well. Both the teams passed 400 runs mark in their 1st innings. And while it was all again looking likely to go for a dull draw, the New Zealand skipper Tim Southee decided to call his team, setting Pakistan a target of 319 runs.
Chasing that, the Men in Green were not comfortable at all, until former skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed steadied the sinking ship and got them to a position where they could have hoped for a victory until he was dismissed towards the end.
Naseem Shah and Abrar Ahmed somehow managed to stay put to the pitch and see out the match to finish on a draw. As a result, the Trophy had to be shared.
Despite all that, the new PCB Chairman Najam Sethi took to his Twitter and go on to say that they prepared a sporting pitch for the match, however the fans completely ousted his words.
