“Some things never change, Pakistan women’s team carrying men’s team’s legacy” – Twitter reacts as Pakistan women’s team pulled off fielding blunder vs India in T20 World Cup

The Indian women’s cricket team kicked-off their campaign in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 with a win against arch-rival Pakistan in their opening match of the competition.

In the 4th match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023, Team India defeated Pakistan in their opening match by 7 wickets.

Batting first in the match, Pakistan women’s team posted 149 runs on the board, thanks to brilliant half-century from Pakistan captain Bismah Maroof. Ayesha Naseem also scored crucial 43 runs as all the other batters around the duo failed to perform.

For India, Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues and Richa Ghosh played some brilliant cricket. Rodrigues played a brilliant inning of 53 runs in 38 balls while Verma scored 33 runs and Ghosh played a cameo of 31 runs in 20 balls to see India win the match by 7 wickets.

Meanwhile, during the match, the cricketing fans witness a familiar scene during Pakistan’s fielding. There were 2 Pakistani fielders who slid together to try to stop conceding a century but both failed and India got a boundary.
