The 1st day’s action of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 in Nagpur between the Indian cricket team and the Australian cricket team is over and it’s the Indian team who are leading the race so far.
After all the drama and talks about the pitch, the first match of the 4 match series between India and Australia began with Australia batting first after winning the toss.
However, the Australian couldn’t deliver with the bat. First, Usman Khawaja and David Warner were dismissed in first 3 overs. And despite a valiant effort from Labuschagne and Smith, they were dismissed for 177 runs.
At the close of the day’s play, the Indian cricket team have put up 77 runs on the board for the loss of 1 wicket. Captain Rohit Sharma has scored a half-century while vice-captain KL Rahul’s struggles continue with the bat.
Rahul played 71 balls and scored just 20 runs that included only 1 boundary. Meanwhile the Indian fans are disappointed that in-form Shubman Gill was dropped for him despite delivering consistently in all forms of the game for India.
