Kane Williamson a great player when it comes to the Test cricket or ODI cricket, however, has failed to maintain the pace with developing T20 format and his strike rate in the format has been criticized a lot.
After announcing his decision to step down as New Zealand Test captain, Kane Williamson told in his statement that he wants to focus on leading New Zealand in the white ball format with the ODI World Cup and T20 World Cup coming in 2023 and 2024 respectively. Tim Southee is set to lead New Zealand in Test cricket from now on.
Meanwhile, the fans have been left frustrated that Williamson decided to quit captaincy in a format that suits him the most.
