Delhi Capitals won a thrilling last ball match against the top of the table Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2023. Chasing a target of 131 runs, Gujarat Titans lost the match by 5 runs.
Batting first after winning the toss, Delhi Capitals lost 5 wickets for just 23 runs. But then Axar Patel and Aman Khan added a much needed partnership before the former was dismissed.
However, Aman Khan continued to play well and scored a fifty and led Delhi Capitals to 130 runs total.
Chasing the target, even the Gujarat Titans had a terrible start as they lost 4 wickets for 32 runs. But then Hardik Pandya and Abhinav Manohar build the inning.
In the last 2 overs, Gujarat needed 33 runs to win. And in the 19th over, Gujarat’s star man Rahul Tewatia played brilliantly and scored 3 sixes and last 3 balls.
They required 12 runs in the last over of the match. In the first 3 balls, veteran pacer Ishant Sharma gave only 3 runs and got the wicket of Tewatia on the 4th ball of the over, then Gujarat required 7 runs of the last ball but brilliant bowling from Ishant meant that Delhi won the match by 5 runs.
