Team India have done, they women in Blue have won the inaugural edition of the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 beating England in the final of the tournament in a year when the Women’s IPL is announced.
After winning the toss, the Indian U19 Women’s Cricket team captain Shafali Verma decided to bowl first.
The bowlers displayed class with the ball as they knocked-off England for just 68 runs in 18 overs of 20. Ryana McDonald Gay was the top scorer for England who scored only 19 runs.
For India though, Titas Sadhu, Archana Devi and Parshavi Chopra all took 2 wickets each. Meanwhile, it took Team India 14 overs to chase it down as they decided not to hurry while in pursuit of the total.
For India, captain Shafali Verma scored 15 runs in 11 balls, but it was Soumya Tiwari and Gongadi Trisha who lead the Women in the Blue to victory of the England team.
This win has certainly brought joys in the face of the Indian cricket fans, who have been dreaming of the World Cup Trophy.
