Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma is currently the most successful captain in the history of the IPL (Indian Premier League), following him by in 2nd place is the legendary Indian World Cup winning captain MS Dhoni.
While Rohit Sharma has led Mumbai Indians to a total of 5 IPL title as the captain of the most successful franchise now, MS Dhoni has guided the team to 4 IPL title.
Behind the two, in 3rd place, is the former Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Gautam Gambhir, who has been till date the best captain to ever lead the Kolkata franchise. Under his captaincy, the team won 2 IPL title in 2012 and 2014.
Most recently, during the 3rd day’s play of the 2nd in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023, commentator Deep Das Gupta asked his co-commentator Gautam Gambhir to pick the best IPL captain.
The former India opening batsman picked Rohit Sharma above MS Dhoni as the best IPL captain ever. However, MS Dhoni fans didn’t like his statement and they still think that Gambhir has still has some grudge against MS Dhoni.
