The match number 26 of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2023 was played between the PSL 2023 points table toppers Lahore Qalandars and 2nd placed team Islamabad United.
The match was played at the very controversial ground in Rawalpindi’s Pindi Club Ground, that is quite famous for producing flat pitches that has no offers for the bowlers and batters score huge runs.
Lahore Qalandars won the toss and opted to bat first. Thanks to a brilliant century from Fakhar Zaman, Lahore put 226 runs on the scorecard. In reply, Islamabad United were rattled for just 107 runs and lost the match by 119 runs.
Meanwhile, there were huge question mark raised on the intent of Fakhar Zaman’s century. Zaman, who scored 115 runs in 57 balls, was the main reason behind his team’s victory.
However, after scoring 72 runs in 30 balls, his next couple of runs to complete his century came in next 20 balls. The same case happened with Babar Azam and received much criticism for that. And now fans are unhappy that Fakhar Zaman is not being criticised.
