The Sri Lankan cricket team is looking to equal the series with a win against Indian cricket team in the 2nd match of the 3 match T20I series.
After winning the toss, Indian team captain Hardik Pandya opted to bowl first. However, the Sri Lankan opening duo was in a different mood at all.
Both Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis added an 80 runs partnership in just 8 overs. However after that, the Sri Lankan inning did took a toll.
But, thanks to Lankan captain Shanaka’s batting, he scored from 56 from 22 balls, helped the Lankan team to put a huge total on the board as Sri Lanka scored 206 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their 20 overs.
After this performance from him and also similar performance in the 1st T20I, Twitterati believes that Dasun Shanaka doesn’t deserved to have gone unsold in the IPL 2023 Auction on the 23rd December.
More about the match:
The match is currently ongoing at the Maharashtra cricket association stadium in Pune. And thanks to Shanaka’s batting, Sri Lanka posted 206 runs on the board. The Indian team have been put in backfoot already. As of writing this, the Men in Blue have lost 4 wickets for just 39 runs in the powerplay and have a uphill infront of them.
