After another failure of the Indian cricket team to reach the final of the T20 World Cup twice in a row, in 2021 and 2022, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) fired the whole selection committee and started hiring process for the new committee.
Despite a strong team, the Indian cricket team failed to win the T20 World Cup in 2021 and 2022, the BCCI were not happy with the selectors and fired everyone of them.
The process for the selection of the new committee started right after. However, it look really long for everything to be finalized and by that time, the old selection committee had to select the squad for the ongoing Sri Lanka series.
Today, on the 7th of January, the BCCI has officially announced the list of selectors. Meanwhile erstwhile chief selector Chetan Sharma has once again got the position with some new names with him.
Shiv Sundar Das, Subroto Banerjee, Salil Ankola and Sridharan Sharath are the other members in the selection committee. Meanwhile, the Twitterati were not happy that Chetan Sharma has been reappointed new chief selector.
