After winning the first two matches of the 4 match Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series, Team India lost the third match against the mighty Australian cricket team in Indore.
Team India came into the match having a 2-0 lead in the series. India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bat first. However, the Australian spinners dominated the Indian batters and wrapped them for 109 runs after a little more than 1st in day 1 itself.
Australia managed to put 197 runs on the board thanks to good contribution all throughout the inning that the Indian team failed. This also allowed Australia to take a 88 runs lead.
In the 2nd inning, Team India scored 163 runs, majorly thanks to Cheteshwar Pujara who scored 59 runs and got a company of a agressive Shreyas Iyer, who scored 27 runs in 28 balls. With that, India set Australia a target of 76 runs.
Australia easily chased it down in the first session of the 3rd day’s play. Despite losing Usman Khawaja early on in the first over, but Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne played brilliantly and chased down the target in 18.5 overs. Checkout how Twitterati reacted to Indian team losing this match.
