The first of the two Test match series between Sri Lanka and the Pakistan cricket team has taken an interesting turn after Pakistan skipper Babar Azam scored a century yesterday. But today, Pakistan’s leg-spin bowler gave everyone a flashback of late Shane Warne with his ball of the century.
The 3rd day of action is currently ongoing in the match between Sri Lanka and Pakistan in the 1st Test match being played at the Galle International cricket stadium.
Batting first, Sri Lanka scored 222 runs with Dinesh Chandimal the highest scorer for them with 70 runs. However, Pakistan suffered a major collapse at one end while Babar Azam stick at his end and constructed a brilliant century to take Pakistan to 218 runs.
With 4 runs lead, Sri Lanka got off to a decent start. They had many players get a good start but couldn’t convert that to a good partnership. And thus, as of writing this, Sri Lanka are 8 wickets down for 275 runs.
However, the moment of the day or the match came in the 56th over of Sri Lanka’s 2nd inning when Yasir Shah bowled a ball of the century to dismiss settled in batsman Kusal Mendis for 76 runs.
The moment gave everyone a great flashback of the great Shane Warne. The late Australian leg-spin bowler bowled a similar ball to dismiss Michael Gatting.
