The fourth day of the final match of the ICC World Test Championship series between the Indian cricket team and the South African cricket team got underway earlier today. The South African cricket team resumed on their overnight score of 101/2, with rising star Keegan Petersen batting in the middle alongside right-handed batter Rassie van der Dussen.
Many fans thought that the Indian cricket team were the favorites to win the ICC World Test Championship series, but at the moment, the South African cricket team is closer to the win. At 43.2 overs, the South African cricket team is 153/2. The target is just 59 runs away, and Keegan Petersen is inching closer to his maiden Test century. He has got good support from Rassie van der Dussen who has aggregated 16 runs off 35 deliveries.
The Indian bowlers have bowled well in the first session, and there have been quite a few deliveries that have beaten the batters. On the fourth delivery of the 40th ball, Jasprit Bumrah managed to get an outside edge off Keegan Petersen’s bat. The ball went towards Cheteshwar Pujara who was standing in the slip cordon. However, the experienced Indian player could not judge the catch properly and dropped it.
This drop could cost the Indian cricket team the series because Keegan’s wicket would have given the visitors a chance to bounce back in the innings. The youngster has played top-quality cricket in this series. He has done the same in the ongoing match as well. It is pertinent to note that the South African batter was on 59 when Pujara dropped the catch. He has already scored 23 runs after that and is close to the three-figure mark.
