The very first match of the T20 World Cup 2022 is currently ongoing as Sri Lanka is taking on Associate nation Namibia in an exciting opening match of the tournament in Geelong.
The match began with Sri Lanka skipper Dasun Shanaka winning the toss and opted to bowl first. And the Sri Lanka did justified their captain’s decision as they took 6 wickets for 93 runs. But then, an important partnership between Jan Frylinch and JJ Smit’s brilliant innings helped Namibia posted a good fighting total of 163 runs.
While this is 2nd consecutive time that Namibia are in the T20 World Cup, still no one expected them to post a huge total against a team like Sri Lanka, especially given how they started their inning.
In such scenario, cricket fans did took a moment to appreciate Namibia for their performance and many are even already expecting upset early on in the tournament. The match is still currently ongoing as of writing.
