“He himself couldn’t win it, how he would have helped us” – Twitter reacts as former Indian cricketer suggests AB de Villiers should have been Team India’s mentor in T20WC 2022

The Indian cricket team’s defeat in the T20 World Cup 2022 is still a big shock for everyone involved with the team and the fans. Especially with the way team India’s exit came about.

Team India wait for their 2nd ever T20 World Cup glory came to a hugely dominating defeat against England. The Men in Blue were absolutely out of shape of what really is T20 cricket.

First with the bat, the Men in Blue struggled to score as they could only score 38 runs in the powerplay and they reached the 100 runs mark in 15 overs. Despite a strong finish, they could only post 168 runs on the board on a pitch where the minimum was 200.

Talking about England, they scored more than 60 runs in the powerplay while they needed only 10 overs to reach 100 runs mark. They were better in all aspect against India. In the end, they chased down 169 runs with all 10 wickets still at their hand.

After this huge defeat, many experts have pointed many reasons for Team India’s performance. Meanwhile former India cricketer Atul Wassan has said that Team India should have looked to bring in former South Africa crickter AB de Villiers as the mentor of the team especially for the T20 World Cup 2022.

However, all the fans had their different opinion. Many said that AB de Villiers himself has not won the T20 World Cup as a player, how he would have brought that winning mentality.
