The match number 36 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was played between the hosts Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
After winning the toss, stand-in captain Virat Kohli opted to bowl first. However, after a long time, KKR finally forged a good opening partnership and crucial contributions from every other batters helped them to post 200 runs on the board.
Chasing the target, RCB got off to a great start, scoring 30 runs in the first 2 overs. But then came KKR’s Golden Boy for this season, Suyash Sharma, who got the wicket of Faf du Plessis and later Shahbaz Ahmed as well.
Varun Chakravarthy then dismissed Glenn Maxwell and from there on, Virat Kohli and Mahipal Lomror gave a hope of a comeback until Lomror was dismissed by Varun and Russell got the wicket of Kohli.
Dinesh Karthik was the only batter that the fans were relying on. However, after his stunning IPL 2022, he has been out of form. He scored 22 runs in 18 balls and was dismissed by Varun Chakravarthy. In the end, KKR won the match by 21 runs. See how Twitterati reacted.
