Match number 23 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 has gone in favour of the Rajasthan Royals team in what was a rematch of the IPL 2022 Final between Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals.
Batting first, thanks to some valiant efforts in the middle-order, the likes Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, David Miller and Abhinav Manohar, Gujarat Titans managed to put 177 runs on the board.
Chasing the target, the Royals lost their star opening duo of Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal for just 4 runs. But from there, captain Sanju Samson played a fabulous inning as he scored 60 runs in 32 balls.
However, it was actually Shimron Hetmyer’s fifty that took Rajasthan over the line. Significant contribution also came from the likes of Dhruv Jurel and Ravichandran Ashwin, who scored 10 runs in 3 balls in the penalty-mate over when Rajasthan needed 21 runs to win in 2 overs.
