Match number 8 of the first ever Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023 was played at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai where Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), the only team to win a match, faced off against UP Warriorz.
Royal Challengers Bangalore’s bad run of form continues as the team slipped to another defeat. Batting first, they scored 138 runs. Despite a good start, losing only 2 wickets for 73 runs, they lost their next 8 wickets for just 65 runs.
Chasing the target, the UP Warriorz batters went all gun blazing and started attacking the bowlers from the get go. Alyssa Healy led the charge as she scored 96 runs in 47 balls and missed out on the century as the team successfully chased down the target with 7 overs to go and all 10 wickets remaining in hand.
With this defeat, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) now finds themselves still at the bottom of the points table with 4 defeats in 4 matches. Checkout how Twitterati reacted to the match.
What a knock by UP Warriorz captain, Alyssa Healy – 96* in just 47 balls with 18 fours and a six. A quality show put on by Healy! pic.twitter.com/it3Eow2XiW

The inaugural WPL is going the same as the first edition of IPL for RCB.
