Umesh was not used a lot by his previous franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and was mostly warming the bench, as a result, he was even dropped out of the Indian cricket team.

But the way he has put himself up-forth as one of the best new ball bowler in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, many are even thinking whether a comeback into the Indian cricket team is possible for the pacer.

His Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) teammate Tim Southee thinks so. Tim Southee in a statement said that he is a big fan of Umesh Yadav and how he has performed this season, he doesn’t see a reason why Umesh should not play for Team India.

Tim Southee said, “I am a fan of Umesh Yadav, he is a tremendous bowler. If he keeps performing the way he’s been doing I can’t see why he would not do well for India in T20 cricket.”

So far in IPL 2022, Umesh Yadav has picked up 10 wickets from 5 matches, but the most important of that how he has given his team an advantage with the new ball, taking wickets in the powerplay, slowing down opposition’s run rate.

As a result of which, the Shreyas Iyer led Kolkata Knight Riders currently sits 2nd in the IPL 2022 Points Table with 3 wins from 5 matches. They next play the Sunrisers Hyderabad on the 15th of April, who have picked up form recently.
