The rescheduled Pakistan tour of Netherlands fixtures announced

After the historic series of hosting the Australian men’s cricket team in Pakistan, the boys in green will head to Netherlands for their next series, that is to be played in August.

Pakistan hosted the Australian cricket team in a historic series as the the Aussies visited the country after a massive gap of 24 years, since last playing against each other in Pakistan, way back in 1998.

The series was also worth the wait. There was drama, suspense and all that you need a series. The 5 match Test series was won by the Australian cricket team by 1-0 after winning the last match of the series, while the first four ended in draw.

The spoils in the One Day International (ODI) went to the home team’s way. After losing the first match of the ODI series, Pakistan made a great comeback to win the remaining two matches to win the ODI series 2-1. While the one and only T20 International (T20I) was won by Australia.

Pakistan cricket team have a pretty packed summer schedule and visiting the Netherlands is a part of the summer.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that the series will be played in the month of August, which will give both the teams a fair amount of chances of making it to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

The series will consists of 3 One Day International (ODI) matches and will a part of the ICC Super League. All the three matches of the series will be played in Rotterdam according to some reports.

The two teams have faced-off thrice in any ICC Cup competition, the ICC Cricket World Cup 1996, ICC Cricket World Cup 2003 and the ICC Champions Trophy 2002, of which, all the matches were won by Pakistan cricket team.

It must be noted that the three ICC Cricket World Cup Super League matches were originally scheduled for July 2020, but was rescheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The three matches will now be played on the 16th, 18th and the 21st of August, 2022.

As for the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League is concerned, the competition will decide the 7 participating teams in the World Cup 2023, barring Team India. Pakistan currently stands 11th in the points table, whereas Netherlands is 13th in the Points Table.
