Day 2’s action in the T20 World Cup 2022 is done and dusted and just like the day 1, we saw a major upset as Scotland got the better of the 2-times T20 World Champions West Indies and other the end, Zimbabwe got the win over Ireland.
Day 2 in the T20 World Cup 2022 was action as only the 1st round matches were played, but also the teams who will appear in the Super 12 round, hit the ground running in warm-up matches.
Talking about the 1st round matches in Day 2, we kicked things off with West Indies taking on Scotland. Batting first, Richie Berrington led team posted a total of 160 runs on the board. George Munsey played a vital inning as he scored 66 runs in 53 balls.
West Indies were all-out for 118 runs while chasing the target. No one really got going for Windies as Mark Watt bagged 3 wickets.
In the 2nd, Sikandar Raza (82 runs from 48 balls) played an important inning and helped his team post a solid total on the board. In chase of 175 runs, Ireland could only score 143 runs as Blessing Muzarabani took 3 wickets for Zimbabwe.

For those who are unaware, of the 8 competiting teams in the round 1, only 4 will make it to the Super 12 round. And after Day 2’s action, it is Namibia and Scotland who are leading Group A and Group B respectively.
From Group A, Namibia and Netherlands have 2 points each, but Namibia have a better Net Run Rate (NRR) than the latter. The same scenario is followed in the Group B as Scotland leads Zimbabwe due to having a better NRR.
