Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) fast bowler Karthik Tyagi recently joined the team and started training. The young pacer was getting some interesting advice from bowling coach Dale Steyn during a practice session.
The player of the 2020 Under-19 World Cup was bought by the Orange Army for a price of 4 crores in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. He will be seen playing alongside the players likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan and Umran Malik.
Karthik Tyagi displayed his abilities while playing with Rajasthan Royals. He was seen beating the batsmen while bowling at a speed of 140 kmph. Recently, a video has been shared on Sunrisers Hyderabad’s social media account in which Steyn is seen talking to the young pacer during the practice session.
In that video, the former World’s number one bowler advised the 21-year-old Karthik that even though he is a Ferrari, he needs to start gradually and then accelerate to sixth gear.
“Just gradual. You’re a Ferrari, you take off in first gear, not sixth gear. Slowly but surely, I want you to get to the sixth gear,” Steyn was heard saying.
Karthik was picked Rajasthan Royals after an outstanding U19 World Cup and went on to take 9 wickets from 10 matches. He was mostly ruled out of IPL 2021 due to injury.
As for the Sunrisers Hyderabad’s performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, they have not had a great start, currently sitting at the bottom of the points table, having lost 2 out of 2 matches. They lost their opening match by 61 runs against Rajasthan Royals, and then Lucknow Super Giants won the 2nd match by 12 runs.
