“The six off Abhishek Sharma was the most pleasing thing for me. I told him that if you bowl to me I’m gonna hit you for a six,” Gill said during the post-match ceremony.
As revealed by Shubman Gill himself, he and Abhishek Sharma have been acquainted with each other since childhood. In addition to that, the two also play for the Punjab state team in domestic cricket, where they have opened the innings together on several occasions and formed significant partnerships that have contributed to the team’s success.
