Royal Challengers Bangalore sign this former Delhi pacer after humiliating defeat vs Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2023

After Reece Topley suffered an injury and was excluded from the Indian Premier League, Royal Challengers Bangalore decided to sign Wayne Parnell to compete in the rest of the tournament. Parnell was among the top contenders to replace Topley and has now been selected by the RCB management for the spot.

Wayne Parnell has an extensive background in T20 cricket, with his international debut dating back to 2009. He has participated in 56 matches to date and has managed to secure 59 wickets with a strike rate of 18.5 and an economy rate of 8.29.

In the previous match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders, Sanjay Bangar announced that Reece Topley had been excluded from the tournament despite the management’s efforts to keep him on the team.

Royal Challengers Bangalore has already made its second replacement of the season, and it’s only been two matches so far. Previously, Will Jacks, an English batsman, was removed from the team and replaced by Michael Bracewell, a New Zealand all-rounder.

Wayne Parnell has previously been a part of Delhi Daredevils and Pune Warriors India’s IPL squads, gaining valuable experience playing in the lucrative league from the third season in 2010 till 2014.

Following a disappointing loss in their first away game against Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bangalore will play their next match at home on April 10th against the Lucknow Super Giants, led by KL Rahul.
