“We will see him in other team as well soon” – Rohit Sharma hints at India call-up for Mumbai Indians youngster after stunning performance in IPL 2023

The journey of the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season did not begin smoothly, as they faced two consecutive losses. Nevertheless, the team managed to recover from the early setbacks, and they have now secured three consecutive victories.

Mumbai Indians’ recent triumph over Sunrisers Hyderabad was particularly noteworthy, as they managed to beat the home team by a margin of 14 runs.

In addition to the established players, Tilak Verma, a promising 20-year-old left-handed batsman from Hyderabad, has captured the attention of many. Verma has been in exceptional form, evidenced by his impressive innings of 37 runs off only 17 balls in the game against SRH.

He has displayed remarkable consistency throughout the tournament, having already scored over 200 runs, a milestone that no other player from the MI squad has reached so far.

Tilak Verma’s outstanding performances have garnered attention, and both the MI captain and Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma, has suggested that Verma may be considered for the national team.

Following the game against SRH, Rohit praised Verma’s approach to the game, indicating his potential as a player.

Rohit Sharma remarked, “We observed Tilak’s performances last season, and we all know what he is capable of. I admire his batting approach, as he focuses on playing the ball instead of the bowler. I am confident that we will witness him play for several teams in the future. It feels like life has come full circle.”

Rohit’s statement is a major encouragement for Tilak Verma, who has been eagerly awaiting an opportunity to represent India at the international level. Verma has been impressing in domestic cricket and has also been a member of the India U-19 team.

With Rohit’s endorsement, it is probable that Verma will receive his first selection call-up to the national team shortly.
