Virat Kohli is the captain of the Indian cricket team in all three formats of the game right now. Under his captaincy, the Indian cricket team made it to the final of the 2021 World Test Championship and the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy. In 2019, India made it to the semifinals of the 50-over Cricket World Cup while playing under the leadership of Kohli.
The right-handed batter has given his best with the bat in all the ICC tournaments that he has played. However, we have rarely seen Kohli bowl for the Indian cricket team when he is leading the team. The last time Kohli rolled his arm over in a T20 World Cup match was during the 2016 edition of the tournament, where he bowled in the semifinal match against the West Indies cricket team and also managed to take one wicket.
Recently, Kohli was bowling for the Indian cricket team in their 2021 ICC T20 World Cup warm-up match against the Australian cricket team. The medium-pacer bowled well and conceded only 12 runs off two overs. He got a good amount of swing in the match.
Kohli’s bowling reminded many fans about an old video of him which was shot back in the year 2008. Virat led the Indian U-19 cricket team in the 2008 U-19 World Cup, and the International Cricket Council posted a throwback compilation video featuring the introductions of various star players who were not so famous then.
Virat Kohli called himself a right-handed batter and a right-arm quick bowler
Virat Kohli’s introduction was a brief one. He named Herschelle Gibbs as his favorite player and described his own cricketing skills. You can watch that video here:
