The match number 3 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 is currently underway in Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium as Punjab Kings (PBKS) takes on the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their opening match of the season.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 has got off to a great start after the Chennai Super Kings vs Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Capitals matches produced some spectacular moments.
And the fans are not being disappointed in the currently ongoing match between Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore as well, as RCB’s captain Faf du Plessis entertained the fans but missed out on a century in the match.
Winning the toss first, Mayank Agarwal led Punjab Kings opted to field first. Anuj Rawat and Faf du Plessis added 41 runs in the powerplay but Anuj departed in the next over.
But RCB’s captain Faf du Plessis kept on going and blasted the ball all over the park. He was also dropped for the just 7 runs off the bowling off Odean Smith, and he took full advantage of that as he went on to score 88 runs from 57 balls, including 7 sixes and 3 fours.
He was on his way to another great century, which could have been the first hundred in this year’s IPL, but the luck was not with him tonight as he was dismissed by Arshdeep Singh, thanks to a great diving catch near the boundary line by Shahrukh Khan.
While RCB is on its way to add a big score on the board, but the fans felt heartbroken after their captain missed out on a well deserved Hundred. While some go on to thank Chennai Super Kings, because Faf use to play for CSK last year and was not retained nor did they managed to get him back in the auction.
