After a lot of trouble about India not wanting to travel to Pakistan to play the Asia Cup 2023, then Pakistan not wanting to travel to India to play the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, looks like both of teams are working towards fulfilling their wish.
Due to the political reasons between neighbour country India and Pakistan, the two country’s teams don’t play any Bilateral series anymore against each since after last in 2013.
Over the last one year, there’s been huge war of words between the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). After BCCI conveyed that India won’t travel to Pakistan to play the Asia Cup 2023, the PCB also threatened BCCI that they also won’t travel to India to play the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
While in the recent weeks a latest development states that India will play their Asia Cup matches in UAE, a latest report today from ESPNcricinfo states that Pakistan won’t play their World Cup matches in India but will play their matches at a neutral venue, which is likely to be Bangladesh.
The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 will be hosted by India and will played between October and November window. England cricket team is the defending champions having won their first ICC Cricket World Cup back in 2019 on their home turf.
ICC GM Wasim Khan said, "Pakistan likely to play their world cup matches at a neutral venue outside India".
