Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2022 season has reached its closing stages as the Grand Finale of the latest edition will be held today in Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium between Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans.
The last 30 days had been a great lot of enjoyment for all the cricket fans in Pakistan with cricket filled throughout the calendar, starting from the 27th January to 27th February.
And at the closing stages, it is probably two of the most deserved teams who have made it to the final of the tournament, the Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans. The two teams who finished top two in the PSL 2022 Points Table.
Multan Sultans may have a psychological advantage over the Lahore Qalandars as the former defeated the latter in Qualifier to reach the final of competition, while Lahore Qalandars had to take a little long route.
Lahore Qalandars enters the final after registering a win over the Islamabad United in the Eliminator 2. And just before the commencement of the Grand Final, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have announced the prize money for PSL 2022.
According to report in Pakistan, the winners of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2022 will receive PKR 80 Million, along with the Trophy. As for the runners-up, they will receive PKR 32 Million.
The Player of the Tournament will reportedly receive around PKR 3 Million, while the highest run scorer and wicket taker, best fielder, emerging player and the umpires will all receive PKR 3.5 Million each, reportedly.
We must also confirm that the prize money this year has gone up as last year’s champions Multan Sultans had received PKR 75 Million, while the runners-up had received PKR 30 Million. Pakistan Super League is certainly in the rise, but it is still far away from the standards of the Big Bash League and Indian Premier League.
