The most successful IPL champions, Mumbai Indians, had a horrible IPL season in the recently concluded edition of the IPL. They created some of the unwanted records of the season. MI started the season with eight back-to-back losses. They ended the tournament at the bottom with a total of 10 defeats.

That has left them with no choice, and now the franchise is looking to work a bit more for the next season. The franchise has decided to set up a three-week camp for all the uncapped Indian players in England in July. The real motive behind this is to give more exposure to the young, emerging Indian players.

Notably, MI has already provided their players with the best possible training facilities. However, this three-week tour will consist at least 10 T20 matches for these players in totally different conditions and pitches.

As per some media reports, NT Tilak Varma, Kumar Kartikeya, Ramandeep Singh, and Hrithik Shokeen are some of those players that will compete against some of the top T20 club sides. Arjun Tendulkar and Dewald Brevis will also join the tour.

An IPL source further said that the Indian domestic season is over and most of the big names are busy with their national duties. So this is the right opportunity for the uncapped players to get some exposure. Notably, the MI head coach, Mahela Jayawardene, will also travel in order to oversee the progress of this group.

The source added that the franchise is looking to monitor the growth of these young players. Notably, the franchise doesn’t need any permission from the Indian board because it is not a commercial trip.

The source concluded, “This trip isn’t a commercial one where there will be tickets sold. Or the match will be broadcast on a particular channel or streamed on some app. Since the trip isn’t a revenue generator, we don’t need to apply for any permission from BCCI.”

These players are those who are not part of any national team activity or BCCI camps or any domestic leagues.

Players who are likely to go: NT Tilak Varma, Akash Medhwal,  Kumar Kartikeya, Aryan Juyal, Arshad Khan, Hrithik Shokeen, Mayank Markande, Arjun Tendulkar, Rahul Buddhi, Basil Thampi, Ramandeep Singh, Anmolpreet Singh, Murugan Ashwin, Dewal Brevis (overseas).
