After Mumbai Indians emerged victorious over Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 Eliminator, players Sandeep Warrier, Kumar Kartikeya, and Vishnu Vinod subtly mocked Naveen-ul-Haq, the pacer of Lucknow Super Giants.
This act stemmed from a previous incident during the league stage of IPL 2023 when Naveen-ul-Haq engaged in a heated conversation with Virat Kohli, the star player of Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Following the RCB-LSG match, Naveen took to Instagram and shared stories related to mangoes whenever the Bangalore-based franchise failed to perform well in their matches.
Furthermore, Naveen-ul-Haq went a step further and uploaded a humorous meme video on Instagram following Royal Challengers Bangalore’s elimination from the tournament. The video aimed to evoke laughter and seemed to highlight the team’s unfortunate exit from the competition.
Following Mumbai Indians’ victory over Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2023 Eliminator, three players from the team, namely Kumar Kartikeya, Vishnu Vinod, and Sandeep Warrier, captured a moment at the dining table with mangoes.
Sandeep and Vishnu shared the photo on their Instagram profiles, accompanied by the caption “Sweet season of mangoes.” Although Sandeep and Vishnu have since removed the post, a screenshot of it was captured by a Twitter user who then uploaded it on their own profile.
Adding an intriguing twist, it is worth noting that Avesh Khan, who happens to be Naveen-ul-Haq’s teammate at Lucknow Super Giants, expressed his approval by liking the Instagram post shared by Sandeep Warrier and Vishnu Vinod.
This gesture by Avesh Khan adds another layer of intrigue to the dynamics within the team and their reaction to the playful jab taken at Naveen-ul-Haq.
Despite suffering a significant 81-run defeat at the hands of Mumbai Indians, Lucknow Super Giants found a silver lining in Naveen-ul-Haq’s exceptional performance during the match. The Afghan pacer delivered his best-ever IPL performance, displaying his skills by claiming an impressive 4/38.
He dismissed key batsmen such as Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, and Cameron Green. Naveen-ul-Haq’s remarkable spell limited Mumbai Indians’ first-innings total to 182/8, preventing them from reaching a potentially daunting score of 200+. Unfortunately, Lucknow Super Giants’ batting faltered in the chase, as they were bundled out for just 101 runs, resulting in a comprehensive 81-run defeat.
