The Rohit Sharma led Mumbai Indians have slipped to back-to-back defeat in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season with a defeat in the El-Clasico of IPL against Chennai Super Kings.

In an important, batting first, Mumbai Indians got off to a great start with both openers Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan firing in the powerplay. However, as soon as those 2 departed, Mumbai inning crumble under pressure and were all out for just 157 runs.

Chasing the target, Ajinkya Rahane played an explosive inning of 61 runs in 27 balls, scoring the fastest fifty in IPL 2023. Ruturaj Gaikwad not out till the end as he scored 40 runs in 36 balls and got good support from both Shivam Dube and Ambati Rayudu.

In the end, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) won the match by 7 wickets to register their 2nd win of the season. Meanwhile the Mumbai fans are really disappointed with the performance as well as team selection.

The Mumbai fanbase has particularly been asking for Arjun Tendulkar, the son of legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, be given atleast an opportunity. Arjun has been a part of the Mumbai Indians team since 2021 and is yet to play a match.
