Breaking News: Mumbai Indians announce India international bowler as Jasprit Bumrah’s replacement for IPL 2023

The 5 times champions of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Mumbai Indians were dealt a huge blow few weeks before the start of the IPL that their prime bowler Jasprit Bumrah won’t be available for IPL 2023 due to injury.

Jasprit Bumrah, who is currently the best Indian pacer among the bunch, has been long out of the Indian team’s squad due to injury. Despite making a return in September 2022, his injury just got worse and he is yet to feature for the Indian team in the last 7 or 8 months.

Bumrah made his name with Mumbai Indians franchise who gave him the opportunity to showcase his talent. He has been a long servant of the team but this will be the first time that Mumbai will be playing without him.

With him ruled out for the entire IPL 2023, Mumbai Indians have today announced his replacement.

Former Kerala and now a Tamil Nadu pacer Sandeep Warrier will take Jasprit Bumrah’s place in the team. The right-arm medium pacer has huge experience and has played for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL.

More so, Warrier has also played for the Indian team in a single T20I match back in 2021 vs Sri Lanka. He couldn’t do much in that match and never featured for the Indian team again.
