"Would've loved him in the team.."- MS Dhoni names a CSK Star whom he missed vs DC despite a 27-run win

Chennai Super Kings registered a comprehensive win over the Delhi Capitals on Wednesday at Chepauk Stadium. They thrashed DC by 27 runs to record their seventh win of the IPL 2023. MS Dhoni used his bowlers brilliantly, and this win has given CSK two more points to increase their tally to 15.

However, despite a great win, the CSK skipper named a CSK player whom he missed during the game. Notably, the spinners did well for the home team and contained the scoring rates. But MS Dhoni felt that Mitchell Santner could have been a key if he had been part of the playing XI against DC.

Ravindra Jadeja (1/19) and Moeen Ali (0/19) both bowled economical four-over spells, which put pressure on the DC batters. After the win, MS Dhoni said that the ball turned a lot in the second half and the spinners did a great job.

MSD said, “It turned a lot in the second half. We know that our spinners use a lot more seam than some of the other bowlers. I would have loved Mitch (Santner), he’s a bowler that has done very well on Flat wickets with the new ball.”

Santner has played only three games this season and picked up three wickets at a decent economy of 6.75. After the return of Maheesh Theekshana, Santner has to sit out. Earlier in the game, CSK made 167/8 in the first inning. Seven batters went past the 20-run mark, and the highest scorer was Shivam Dube (25 off 12).

MSD played a good cameo of 9-ball 20 in the end. In reply, DC lost their top three in-form batters for just 25 runs. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals, managed only 140/8, and lost the game. CSK will now lock horns with the Kolkata Knight Riders in their next game on Sunday at Chepauk Stadium.
