Following Chennai Super Kings’ victory over Gujarat Titans in the Qualifier 1 in Chennai on Tuesday, Dhoni was posed a direct question by well-known commentator Harsha Bhogle regarding his future at Chepauk, referring to CSK’s last home match this season, as the final would be held in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

Although Dhoni didn’t provide a straightforward answer, he made it abundantly clear that he wouldn’t make a career decision right after the IPL concludes.

Dhoni responded, “I don’t know. I have eight or nine months to decide. The mini auction will be around December, so why to take that headache right now? I have ample time to decide. I will always be there for CSK, whether it is in the playing form or sitting somewhere outside,” stated the veteran captain during the post-match presentation ceremony.

In a highly contested match on Tuesday, Chennai Super Kings showcased their dominance by defeating the resilient Gujarat Titans by a margin of 15 runs on a challenging playing surface.

This victory secured CSK’s spot in their 10th IPL final and showcased their remarkable consistency throughout the tournament.

After opting to bowl, Hardik Pandya’s decision allowed CSK to post a commendable total of 172 for 7 on a slow pitch in Qualifier 1. Given the conditions, the score proved to be more than competitive as the Gujarat Titans faltered, managing only 157 all out in their allotted 20 overs. Although Rashid Khan’s late 30 runs off 16 balls raised tensions among CSK fans, it ultimately fell short in securing victory for the Titans.

Nonetheless, the defending champions, the Gujarat Titans, will have another opportunity to reach the final as they compete in Qualifier 2 on Friday, aiming for a second consecutive appearance in the championship match.
