“Jadeja and MSD talking almost everyday” – Michael Hussey confirms CSK backing Jadeja as captain after dismal start to IPL 2022

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 Champions and the defending champions in this year’s competition, Chennai Super Kings have not got off to a great start in their IPL 2022 campaign, but, CSK’s batting coach Michael Hussey confirmed that the team is backing the new captain Ravindra Jadeja.

Chennai Super Kings are the defending champions of the competition, having won the competition last year after a tremendous performance and finally getting past Kolkata Knight Riders in the final match of IPL 2021.

However, the Super Kings fans dealt a huge blow prior to the start of the competition, when skipper MS Dhoni annouced that he has decided to hand over the captaincy duty to Ravindra Jadeja from IPL 2022 onwards.

They further dealt blows as Chennai Super Kings is going through a very bad patch, having lost all 4 of their first 4 matches of IPL 2022, and currently sits right at the bottom of the IPL 2022 Points Table.

And now, after 4 consecutive losses, captain Ravindra Jadeja is under a huge pressure in his debut season as the team’s captain. However, team’s batting coach Michael Hussey confirmed that the team is backing Ravindra Jadeja.

Hussey was quoted by News18 as saying that making Jadeja captain is a big change after MS Dhoni led the team for such and achieved lots of success. He added that Jadeja and Dhoni are talking almost everyday the captaincy, tactics and how leadership works.

“I know that Jadeja and MSD are talking almost every day about captaincy, about tactics and how leadership works,” stated Hussey.

He then added that so far Jadeja has done well and CSK needs just one or two wins to get Jadeja relaxed. He also added that everyone in the team is supporting Jadeja and hoping for victories soon.
