“PSL Has Helped Me to Understand the Demands in T20 Cricket” - Jofra Archer on His Playing Days Under Sarfaraz Ahmed in Psl

Jofra Archer is a renowned name in the world of cricket. The English pacer is known for his fast rear pace and aggressive bowling attitude. However, many don’t know that before his international debut for England, Archer had played some games in the Pakistan Super League as well. The English speedster has represented Quetta Gladiators in the 2018 season.

Archer appeared in a couple of matches for Quetta that season, under the leadership of former Pakistani captain Sarfaraz Ahmed. In an interview with Jarrod Kimber’s podcast “Red Inker,” the pacer also discussed his PSL experience. He opened up about how the league has helped him to understand more about T20 cricket. Jofra Archer stated that he got that experience that was required and that helped him play on the international circuit.

Talking further on the podcast, the pacer also praised the leadership of Sarfaraz Ahmed. Archer said there was not much difference between Sarfaraz and Eoin Morgan as captains. He concluded, “playing under Sarfaraz wasn’t much different from Morgan, both damn good leaders.”

However, the English speedster is out of the action because of his elbow injury from last March. So far in his career, Archer has represented England in 13 Tests, 17 ODIs, and 12 T20Is in total, taking 42, 30, and 14 wickets, respectively. He played his last T20I match against India in March 2021.

Last year, Archer went through the second operation for his injured elbow. According to some, he might be back soon for the English camp.

He is in his recovery process and was also out of England’s plans for action. Archer is also spending some time in the nets, which shows he is better now. However, English fans must be hoping for him to get back as soon as possible. The England team is missing the skill-set he brings to the table.
