He said, “I spoke to MS (Dhoni) – he was straight away captain of India, had never captained anyone else, and was one of the most successful ever”. MS Dhoni is the only captain in the history of the game to win all the 3 ICC trophies. MS Dhoni lastly won the IPL title with Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2021.

Meanwhile it will be a massive gain for England because of India losing Rohit Sharma not only as a captain but also as a top order batsman. Hanuma Vihari may get to open the innings with Shubman Gill. England thrash New Zealand 3-0 to comfortably start the new era under the leadership of Ben Stokes.
