“IPL has come alive”- Suresh Raina reacts as Gujarat defeat CSK in last-over thriller

The 29th match of the IPL 2022 season happened yesterday in Pune, where the Gujarat Titans beat the Chennai Super Kings in a close encounter. Stand-in skipper Rashid Khan won the toss and elected to field first at the MCA Stadium. Ruturaj Gaikwad returned to form for CSK, but his knock went in vain. Suresh Raina had an interesting reaction to the match’s result.

Talking about the match number 29 first, the Gujarat Titans got off to a decent start with the ball. Robin Uthappa and Moeen Ali lost their wickets in single digits. Uthappa managed a 10-ball three, while Ali got out after scoring only one run.

A 98-run third-wicket partnership between Gaikwad and Ambati Rayudu helped the Chennai Super Kings make a comeback into the contest. Gaikwad completed his maiden half-century of the season, while Rayudu smashed a 31-ball 46.

Shivam Dube could not replicate his previous innings as he got run out for 19. Ravindra Jadeja played an important cameo of 22 runs. Alzarri Joseph impressed on his GT debut as he picked up two crucial wickets for the team. CSK finished with a score of 169/5 in 20 overs.

Chasing 170 runs to register their fifth win of the competition, the Titans lost wickets at regular intervals and slumped to 48/4 after eight overs. A win seemed tough for the Ahmedabad-based franchise, but David Miller played a sensational innings of 94 runs to help the Gujarat Titans win in the last over.
