In the IPL game against Chennai Super Kings, Andre Russell picked up hamstring injury. He missed the game against Delhi Capitals, and on Friday, he was not part of the playing XI against Punjab Kings. As he missed his second consecutive game for KKR, injured Andre Russell posted a motivational story on his Instagram account.
Injured Andre Russell misses the second consecutive game
Andre Russell is one player who has always been prone to injuries. In the past, he has missed many games due to injury. At that time, as well, KKR supported him and the West Indian paid back with his sensational performances on many occasions.
However, in recent seasons, Russell has been away from injuries. He has looked fitter, and in turn, his displays have been phenomenal. In the ongoing season, apart from with the bat, Russell has also done well with the ball. He has taken up the responsibility of bowling at the death and has actually done well.
Against CSK, he picked up a hamstring injury which has made him miss the game against Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals. It is reported that he might miss the entire season, as well. Amidst this, he posted a motivational line, “Nothing last forever will be back stronger” on his Instagram story.
KKR fighting hard for a playoff spot
Although they looked down and out after the first phase of IPL 2021, KKR has come back stronger after the break. They genuinely are looking competitive and are in the race to make it to the playoffs. The team is looking balanced, but the absence of Andre Russell and Lockie Ferguson is likely to affect them. The team will need to strengthen its bowling, and hence, they might have to compromise on their batting attack. It needs to be seen how KKR will tackle this.
