“Unreal how Mohit Sharma won Purple Cap under MS Dhoni Captaincy and then became no one” – Twitter reacts as Indian World Cupper Mohit Sharma made his return to cricket after more than 930 days

Mohit Sharma

Mohit Sharma is a name that many might not remember but once was a star player for the Indian cricket team and he represented the Men in Blue in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.

Mohit Sharma was a must have bowler in the Indian team as well as for the IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings. He was a part of the franchise between 2013 and 2015 and was one of their star bowler and won the Purple Cap in 2014 as well.

However, after the 2015 edition of the tournament, things just went downhill for him. He lost his touch and was released by CSK. He was then bought by Kings XI Punjab, but failed. In 2019, he returned to CSK, but for one season and didn’t do anything.

And then, he went missing. It was until IPL 2022 that he was missing before he suddenly surfaced back again as a net bowler for the Gujarat Titans. He was then bought by the franchise in the IPL Auction.

And now after what is likely more than 930 days, Mohit Sharma finally played a match. He replaced Yash Dayal in the team and did perform well, taking 2 wickets in his 4 overs and gave away only 18 runs. See how Twitterati reacted after his comeback.
