Luck, or say the pitch was all against the Indian cricket team in the first day of the 3rd Test match of the 4 match Border-Gavaskar Trophy series that is being played in Indore from today onwards.
Throughout this series, the pitches used in the previous two matches in Nagpur and Delhi were the talk of the town due to the amount of spin that the pitch produced during the match where they matches didn’t even last a full 3 day.
And the pitch in Indore is one different. The Indore’s pitch that is being used for the 3rd Test of the series is already a big talking point as the Indian team failed to deal with the huge amount of turn that was on the offer during India’s inning.
For those who are not aware of the turn, one particular example would be the ball that turn near about 10 degree to dismiss Cheteshwar Pujara. Pitching way outside off, the ball hit the middle and leg stump and Pujara was left no option of dealing with it. As such, Team India were all-out for 109 runs after a little more than a session.
The turn did saw a decline in number during the Australian inning as the pitch got older. Australia batters, specifically Marnus Labuschagne and Usman Khawaja dealt with the spinners beautifully, both adding a partnership of 96 runs for the 2nd wicket after Jadeja got rid of Travis Head early on.
Meanwhile talking about, it is actually him only who was able to take any wicket for the Indian team by the end of Day’s play as he took 4 wickets and Australia ended the day’s play on 156 runs for the loss of 4 wickets.
Meanwhile, there is an interesting video that is currently doing rounds in social media where Team India captain Rohit Sharma is seen abusing Jadeja in a friendly manner. In the video, Sharma can be heard saying, “Jaddu bho…… pehle dekh ball kidhar lag raha hai (first see where the ball is hitting.” Obviously he said so in a friendly or brotherly manner. This happened after Team India lost 2 DRS reviews early on in the inning. You can watch the video below.
