Here’s why Hardik Pandya is not playing against Chennai Super Kings; Rashid Khan confirms

Cricket fraternity on Twitter was shocked to see Hardik Pandya not showing up for the toss for the match against the Ravindra Jadeja led Chennai Super Kings.

Match number 29 of this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 is being played between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings in Pune’s Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium.

Gujarat Titans is a newcomer in this year’s Indian Premier League, but has played like an well established team and currently sits at the very top of the IPL 2022 Points Table.

And one big reason for Gujarat’s success is very much their skipper Hardik Pandya, who has been tremendous with both the bat and ball alongside his leadership qualities.

But he will be a big miss today for the Titans as Hardik Pandya has been ruled out of tonight’s game between Gujarat and Chennai Super Kings.

In Hardik’s absence, Afghanistan’s leg-spin bowler Rashid Khan is leading the team. He confirmed during the toss that Hardik Pandya has bit of stiffness in his groin area and has been rested for the match and is hopeful of a return in the next match.

“Bit of stiffness in the groin area for Hardik, so as a team, we didn’t want to take a chance. He will rest and hopefully be back for the next game,” said stand-in skipper Hardik Pandya.

Hardik Pandya will be a big miss for the Gujarat Titans as their has impressed everyone with his leadership and his batting. Hardik is currently the 3rd highest run scorer in this year’s Indian Premier League, having scored 228 runs from 5 matches.
